Here I Come to Save Democracy
RFK, Jr. as Mighty Mouse may not save democracy but it signals a realignment that must be embraced if democracy can be saved
Democrats have become the party of war, censorship, corruption, Big Pharma, Big Tech, Big Ag, and Big Money… What alarms me is they resort to censorship and media control and the weaponization of the federal agencies.
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
This has been a weird-ass year. A lot of people predicted that it would be; however, the way things have been playing out these past four years, Nostradamus wasn’t really needed.
By the time September was cracking its fingers, getting ready to slip into its slot in 2024, did you ever think a Kennedy would endorse a Trump? Maybe if Trump had remained a Democrat, but the dysfunction that we see in today’s Democrat Party would never have translated into support for a common sense businessman, regardless his bombastic showmanship.
The same holds true for Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Maybe when he tried to enter the Democrat primary and challenge the incumbent’s ineptitude justified the party of the donkey—or jackass—to push aside this rebellious Kennedy. Had the Democrats embraced him, or at least have been neutral, he may have won the primary and the Democrats would have an insurmountable lead as September rolls into town.
But they couldn’t have anyone who spoke ill of St. Fauci. They couldn’t have anyone who challenged the march toward insanity—not that RFK, Jr. would have stopped that from happening. Irrespective of the infatuation many Republicans have for the man, he’s still a leftist at his core. He believes in the conspiracy theory of Climate Change! He believes in gun control. He believes that government can be a force for good in changing the way we live.
Getting the endorsement of RFK, Jr. isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. The Kennedy clan had long ago labeled little Bobby a crackpot and a kook. The double whammy.
But it’s not about the Kennedy family shunning Donald Trump; it’s about the similarities between a past Kennedy administration and the future of the Republican Party. Many times, people of distinction within the Republican Party and the America First movement have stated that John F. Kennedy had more in common with conservatives than the Democrat Party of today and, for the most part, this could be a true statement. Unfortunately, a full Kennedy presidency failed to materialize and so we’ll never know. Instead, any “conservative” initiatives under the Democrat Party failed because the FDR/progressive Lyndon Johnson took his place. Ah, what could have been.
The Republican Party has lived too long with the “Country Club” reputation. Unfortunately, the moniker has roots in truth and the truth has continued to pass from generation to generation; the Republican Party leadership still has the snooty mentality that they would never associate with the dregs of society who have lived in the Democrat Party for at least sixty years. These same “dregs” are the target for Trump’s party; these “dregs” are the only ones that can deliver a Republican victory—up and down ballot—and the signs are there that the “dregs” are behind Trump, but not the Republican Party. Polls regarding senate races show Democrats up in states where Trump is leading.
This nation, and the entire world around us, is in the midst of a major realignment with a positive outcome very much in doubt. In every region of the world, major conflicts are brewing as a result of conservative backlash against globalist policies. We’re seeing what the globalists are capable of as the slap down of upstart conservatives is very apparent. Throughout the EU, conservative wins have been minimized through parliamentary trickery or flat out, old school totalitarian jackboots. The holdouts, Hungary and Italy, are being ostracized and defunded by the centralized EU organization; this is the organization that was initially supposed to create an economy of scale for Europe to compete in opening markets, but has become a jailer for the population accustomed to having tyrants rule their fate. It’s sad.
In America, the electorate is becoming frustrated as well. They see a Republican Party—its reputation decimated by continuous attacks from Democrat narrative backed by the massive propaganda media—as unresponsive. They see the Democrat Party—the once party of cool—fall under the spell of charlatans and creeps. Americans want to know, is there somewhere to place their faith?
Trump and America First have been embracing the people who have been most affected by the Democrats’ cuddling of the weird. Middle America has been in major decline since the 1960s and, with the incompetent and criminal Biden administration leading the way, we are all but one election from being finished off.
The Democrat Party had once been the home of the “dregs”. They supported unions, farmers, civil rights, free speech, equality under the law, and, well, a lot of other things that are now being threatened by the Democrat Party. The true believers from the old Democrat Party don’t have a home anymore. Trump, very wisely, saw this happening and told the nation, “The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer.”
His almost eight-year campaign to reignite the Republican Party with middle America echoes what Ronald Reagan did; and the country club didn’t support him either. The country club is aghast at a potential RFK, Jr. endorsement. His endorsement isn’t a huge accomplishment in this race—it can easily be written off as sour grapes by Kennedy toward the party that rejected him—but it might be enough to push Trump to victory. And there is some truth to the sour grapes mindset.
However, Kennedy does seem to live by principles that override mere revenge; it is quite obvious that he believes the party of his uncle and father is dead. His endorsement of Trump should signal an open door to disaffected Democrats to leave their party and consider a retooled Republican Party for at least partial loyalty for a limited time. It is obvious that the country club doesn't want this.
The Republican leadership can get out of the way and let a realignment happen or they can continue to work behind the scenes to sabotage a Trump victory and sink the hopes of regaining the Senate and losing the House. To hell with them.
What is most interesting is that his endorsement does, in fact, signal a realignment. Kennedy’s running mate, Nicole Shanahan, surprised many by exploring the possibility of throwing in the towel and opting for a united front against the Democrats. Shanahan, a self-made success beyond the money she received from her divorce from Google co-founder Sergey Brin, turned away from the Democrat Party because the Democrats have run away from the forgotten man. Her accomplishments and pulling-herself-up-by-the-bootstraps story is the epitome of what America offers but it is considered gauche by progressives. What makes her most interesting that not only did she walk away from progressives but is willing to embrace Trump as the nation’s savior. What the hell just happened?
It’s a realignment and it’s an opportunity to reject insanity and embrace the coalition that will do more to restore liberty than anything since the Civil War. The only saving democracy needs is from the Machiavellian Democrat Party and their desire to destroy America. And we do need saving, much more than the elites of both parties appreciate—or desire.
[Please note: This was written on 8/23/24 before the full story behind RFK, Jr. discloses anything about his future. I am leaving the country for a couple of weeks and have been writing a few pieces to cover for my absence. Following this will be articles for the Psychopathy of the Left series and there will be more to come once I return. I hope you enjoy and thanks for your continued support!]
You always make me think, and as usual this piece did not disappoint. I have followed RFK Jr for a long time, and my initial reaction to his announcement was relief and optimism, the hope that the whitewashing of Commie Kamala by the press might be overcome. If people don’t know what she is, we are in grave danger of being handed over to the globalists/communists without a shot being fired. An uninformed voting public might just think “oh it’s time for a woman president”. Think about writing a piece on that please!
