All things being equal, Donald Trump will be our 47th president. But not all things are equal and November is an eternity away. As we have witnessed since 2016, those powers aligned against President Trump have no compunction to do what is necessary to end his ascension to power at the hands of the American voters. And if he wins and is sworn in? There are contingencies there as well.
How desperate are they? Well, unlike 2016, they know exactly what they will get with a second Trump term.
There is no shame within this collusion among politicians from both major political parties, the corporate media (once known as the “fourth branch” of government), a multitude of non-governmental organizations (NGOs), the bureaucracy of the federal government, and a cadre of individuals and institutions within the military and intelligence apparatus (also known as the “Deep State”) including the State Department. Is it a vast, tightly held conspiracy among the aforementioned? No. It is a collusion of like-minded interests to protect the status quo. All of these disparate entities enjoy the power they have gained under decades of corruption and malfeasance and a cowboy like Donald Trump threatens their abilities to live on in perpetuity.
How far are they willing to go? There is more than enough evidence that they will never allow Donald Trump to gain power again.
To review:
· An orchestrated campaign to deceive the American people about Russian interference in the 2016 elections between politicians (think Hilary Clinton, John McCain, et. al.), intelligence actors (CIA, FBI, MI6, and others), certain members of the media, and hired political hacks like Robert Mueller, to add an air of legitimacy to the process.
· An impeachment trial by Congress in January of 2020 accusing then President Trump of extorting Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate Hunter Biden (quite ironic when Joe Biden actually extorted Ukraine on behalf of his son’s business dealings).
· A covid-aided election that allowed mail-in ballots to be accepted despite being in violation of several states’ laws. Cowards in the judiciary did not allow for constitutional remedies.
· A second impeachment trial of a former president concerning a protest turned mostly peaceful riot on January 6, 2020. Labeled as an insurrection, it is difficult to mount an insurrection on yourself when you are still in power.
· An avalanche of legal cases brought by different nefarious factions all focused upon taking Donald Trump down.
All told, Donald Trump has been charged with ninety-nine criminal felonies with a potential of life in prison waiting for him at the end of all of this. Led by creepy DOJ Special Counsel Jack Smith, all of the prosecutors have Deep State ties and/or are politically progressive. With the exception of the Florida case, all others have been filed in jurisdictions where the judges, juries, and “executioners” are guaranteed to be progressive in political attitude. It is a show of naked political authoritarianism.
It has now come to light—to no one’s true surprise—that the Department of Justice and the White House administration have been coordinating with the different prosecutors to get Trump with this string of lawfare cases. These are harassing tactics to tie up Trump and his wealth during the campaign season with the hope he will eventually rot in jail; an example has to be made, after all.
Military Coup
Then, recently, NBC News dropped a bomb exposing the thinking of the left. It is claimed that people inside of the Pentagon believe that Trump will usurp the military in order to enforce his new dictatorship. The opening paragraph tells it all.
Donald Trump is sparking fears among those who understand the inner workings of the Pentagon that he would convert the nonpartisan U.S. military into the muscular arm of his political agenda as he makes comments about dictatorship and devalues the checks and balances that underpin the nation’s two-century-old democracy. [highlight mine]
First, to label the military—especially the Obama-era hacks that run the Pentagon—as non-partisan is laughable. Part of Obama’s efforts to fundamentally change America was to purge all right-leaning officers from the armed forces and replace them with ineffectual ninnies. Those efforts continued under the radar of Trump and has accelerated on full display under Biden. The vaccine mandates helped seal the deal. If you wondered why it was so easy to introduce and consummate wokeism and DEI into the military, this was it. Former chief of staff Mark Milley, the crusader of white rage, was the epitome of the woke and weak warrior.
Of course, if faced with a “military coup”, then wouldn’t it be acceptable to preempt it with one of your own?
Panic
It is all desperation. Why?
Quite possibly it could be something reflected in a Fox News exit poll in New Hampshire. One question asked Republican voters How much change would you like to see in how the country is run? Fifty-four percent said substantial change. Twenty-eight percent of all Republican voters wanted complete and total upheaval (for a total of eighty-two percent favoring the total destruction of the Deep State).
And that has them scared to death.
"When government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny."
—anonymous quote often erroneously attributed to Thomas Jefferson
Right now, we’re in a weird place of abundant fear and the outcome is in serious contention. Both the powers-that-be and the people fear each other. Both sides are fighting for their way of life and it will come down to which side is willing to cross the Rubicon.
It is much more likely that the Deep State will throw caution to the wind and tromp through the Rubicon waters.
Beware The Ides of March
In an interview released on 8/23/23 during the first Republican presidential primary debate, Tucker Carlson posed this situation to former president Donald Trump. When everything has been done to stop him and he’s still fighting, assassination would be the logical next step by the Deep State cabal.
Of course there is the ubiquitous Chuck Schumer quote:
“Let me tell you, you take on the intelligence community, they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you,” Schumer told MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow.
“So even for a practical, supposedly hard-nosed businessman, he’s [Trump] being really dumb to do this.”
Think about this for a moment. Here is a high-ranking creature of the D.C. swamp saying in a very public manner that an apparatus of the United States federal government will strike back at the chief executive of that government for betraying them. And it’s said as matter of fact.
Since the conclusion of World War Two and the adoption of the security state in the Western world, there have been numerous examples of the shadowy intelligence state inserting itself into democratic institutions in order to effect desired outcomes. These manifested in the “color revolutions” in third world countries and in regime change within the U.S. borders.
The Deep State
It’s no surprise that the plethora of alphabet agencies that constitute the federal government’s intelligence community are, at best, maniacal. From the beginning of the “reimagined” FBI in the mid-1920s, J. Edgar Hoover ran an intelligence gathering blackmail scheme directed at people in powerful positions. When Hoover died in 1972, Mark Felt, the number two at the agency was passed over when Richard Nixon appointed L. Patrick Gray as interim director. Felt, no doubt, believed he was snubbed and, with Hoover’s blackmail files, sought revenge. As “Deep Throat”, he led the bumbling Woodward and Bernstein to Pulitzer Prize glory. Watergate then became the scandal that all others are measured against.
Howard Hunt, a former CIA operative involved with various CIA-sponsored color revolutions, including the Bay of Pigs, oversaw, along with G. Gordon Liddy (former FBI), the break-in to the Democratic National Committee’s Watergate headquarters using former CIA operatives. It has been unclear whether the CIA participated directly or the Committee for the Re-election of the President (often referred to tongue-in-cheek as CREEP) hired these individuals on their own. What has been little discussed, however, is that eight months prior to the Watergate affair, Nixon had a long conversation with Lyndon Johnson’s holdover, Richard Helms, the CIA director. The talk was recorded in the Oval Office and has been known as one of the “smoking guns” that drove Nixon from office. In the conversation, Nixon beat around the bush about the Bay of Pigs operation and other “Dirty Tricks” perpetrated by the CIA, such as the “color revolutions” in Iran and Guatemala. At about the 17:30 minute mark, Nixon cuts to the chase: He wanted to know “the who shot John angle.”
Nixon’s chief of staff H.R. “Bob” Haldeman had, for various reasons, wanted to reopen the investigation into JFK’s assassination. Nixon already knew of potential CIA involvement in “John’s” assassination in relation to the Bay of Pigs embarrassment. Helms was neck deep into the assassination planning of Fidel Castro at the same time as Kennedy was shot in Dallas. While it has been maintained that Nixon was fishing around for dirt in his own blackmail schemes, it is wholly likely that Helms took the conversation as a threat and helped implement the Watergate scandal to cover CIA involvement in regime change in 1963. Nixon had tasked Helms to push back on the FBI’s investigation. He did so weakly and pulled back, deferring to the FBI, Gray, and Felt. Eleven years after the first regime change, another took place.
Three former presidents feared the unusual power that was handed over to the federal government’s intelligence arm. Nixon knew of Harry Truman’s concern as well as Dwight Eisenhower’s. Nixon, however, may not have known the depth of Kennedy’s absolute hatred for the CIA. From an April 25, 1966 New York Times article (quoted by a 2017 article):
Former President Truman, whose Administration established the C.I.A. in 1947, said in 1963 that by then he saw “something about the way the C.I.A. has been functioning that is casting a shadow over our historic positions, and I feel that we need to correct it.”
And President Kennedy, as the enormity of the Bay of Pigs disaster came home to him, said to one of the highest officials of his Administration that he “wanted to splinter the C.I.A. in a thousand pieces and scatter it to the winds.”
The exact quote to splinter the CIA in a thousand pieces is not something Kennedy actually said but a paraphrase relayed to the Times’ reporter by a former unidentified aide. This was, however, Kennedy’s sentiments.
The Bay of Pigs fiasco was egg-on-the-face to Kennedy. It was an operation he inherited and not one he was comfortable approving. Many blamed Kennedy for its failure as he refused to allow further U.S. participation as the invasion fell apart. This also spurred a faction within the CIA to undermine Kennedy’s administration. In Nixon’s taped conversation with Helms, he acknowledged that he knew of these divisions within the spy agency.
The Cuban Missile Crisis further strengthened their resolve as many saw the crisis as an opportunity to invade Cuba. The final straw, for the “Deep State”, was Kennedy’s Peace Speech. In it, he humanized the Soviets, called for nuclear test bans, and was seen by hardliners as a capitulation to the communists. How dare a president actually set policy!
A month after the Partial Nuclear Test Ban Treaty went into effect, the president was dead.
It can be theorized that the CIA participated in Watergate and then helped steer the investigation that led to Nixon’s downfall. It has been widely speculated that the CIA had a direct involvement in the assassination of JFK. Current presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. believes that the CIA murdered his uncle and quite possibly his father. Tucker Carlson has stated many times that he has an extremely reliable source that has seen the still unreleased declassified documents surrounding JFK’s assassination and there was absolutely no doubt that the CIA had a major role in the former president’s demise.
The Deep State Lives
Fast forward to 2016… Former British MI6 case officer Christopher Steele, who had worked closely with the CIA during his service, was the tip of the spear in the Deep State’s promotion of the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax. As an aside, Steele was the case officer for Russian spy defector Alexander Litvinenko who was poisoned, probably on orders from Vladimir Putin, with polonium-210 and died in London. His botched dossier along with his botched protection of a defector is a disgrace; obviously, he isn’t all that good at the spy thing. His lead involvement with both the Hilary Clinton campaign and the FBI in the attempted takedown of Donald Trump exposes the intelligence agencies desire to get Trump. Behind the scenes other FBI assets (including foreign actors) were used to entrap Trump officials.
In November of 2019, the FBI possessed the Hunter Biden laptop and had verified it soon after. Keep in mind that Bill Barr, Trump’s attorney general at the time, would have had knowledge that the laptop was real, though he never spoke up. In a move to completely discredit the laptop, fifty-one former intelligence officials, the vast majority of whom were CIA, signed a letter flatly stating that the laptop “has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.” This coverup blunted the case against Biden and his shady dealings—and possible treason—through the use of his dysfunctional and corrupt family. Even that was just a part of the overall effort to dispose of Trump. And it worked.
In a brazen admittance of conspiracy, reporter Molly Ball outlined in Time magazine how the forces aligned against Trump formed a cadre of Democrat operatives funded by Big Tech and Never Trumpers in the Republican camp to subvert the 2020 election and to drive Trump from office.
Hundreds of major business leaders, many of whom had backed Trump’s candidacy and supported his policies, called on him to concede. To the President, something felt amiss. “It was all very, very strange,” Trump said on Dec. 2. “Within days after the election, we witnessed an orchestrated effort to anoint the winner, even while many key states were still being counted.”
In a way, Trump was right.
There was a conspiracy unfolding behind the scenes, one that both curtailed the protests and coordinated the resistance from [Wall Street and Big Tech] CEOs.
This cadre of usurpers effected a coup against a sitting president using the basic fundamentals of American democracy against him.
Their work touched every aspect of the election. They got states to change voting systems and laws and helped secure hundreds of millions in public and private funding. They fended off voter-suppression lawsuits, recruited armies of poll workers and got millions of people to vote by mail for the first time. They successfully pressured social media companies to take a harder line against disinformation and used data-driven strategies to fight viral smears. They executed national public-awareness campaigns that helped Americans understand [and accept] how the vote count would unfold over days or weeks, preventing Trump’s conspiracy theories and false claims of victory from getting more traction.
In other words, they cheated. There has never been such an operation to change the outcome of a presidential election that spanned every state’s electoral system and instead of the FBI swooping in to conduct a legitimate investigation, everyone sat on their hands and acted as if the 2020 election was the most secure election ever. The American people were duped and, in the end, they got Trump.
As far as 2024 goes, this cadre of authoritarians are returning for a command performance.
The DNC and groups allied with them rely on a five-part strategy to ensure that President Trump didn’t then and will not now get a second term.
That strategy includes intense legal pressure on state election officials to loosen voter integrity laws, a data nerve center that contains personal profiles of voters to predict how they will vote, an alliance of left-wing foot soldiers to bring out Democratic votes in key swing states, a collection of groups capable of bringing violence and mass unrest to cities and towns if called upon, and a network of financing vehicles to fund it all.
As was reviewed above, the conspirators knew Trump wasn’t done and they tried to have him disqualified by impeaching him after he left office. In what alternative universe is it legitimate to impeach a former president? Afterward, they launched their lawfare front to, at the very least, sully the former president’s appeal to voters in 2024. The problem for them has been the American people: They are beginning to see what is happening—though not at the scale outlined here—and somehow, Trump has become a sympathetic figure in American lore.
And faced with such unprecedented warfare against a single political figure, who wouldn’t have surrendered by now? Either Trump is a stubborn S.O.B. or we are witnessing an unprecedented major course change in the history of the United States.
And the Deep State actors are at the Rubicon.
Going There
There is no one creepier than Alex Soros, the new chief agent of chaos, facilitated by the Open Society Foundations—the NGO that works closely with all stakeholders in the globalist fascist movement. His arrogance knowns no boundaries and yet his immaturity, even at 38, belies his position. With billions of dollars of his father’s fortune in his back pocket, the narcissist threatens to be a much more formidable adversary than the shriveled-up prune that sired him.
His above “Tweet” appears to threaten Trump if he were to become the 47th president: a bullet hole in a glass pane and an outstretched hand holding forty-seven dollars. Several alternative media outlets suggest it is an implied threat. It is a strange graphic though it appears in the article to which he referred. Admittedly, the symbolism is extremely creepy. It reenforces the tightening nerves as November 2024 approaches. The article downplays rampant crime and a faltering economy, two of the issues that are plaguing the Biden administration, but it serves as nothing more than a reminder that the elites are out to get Trump and the America First movement.
In any plot to assassinate a political figure, blowback must be considered. There have been eleven attempts to assassinate a president in U.S. history (Gerald Ford had two different attempts). Four were successful. Four of the attempts were made by people who were identified as mentally unstable. The others were from individuals with political motives, most being radical leftists. An unsuccessful assassination attempt on Trump by a radical leftist would only cement his election.
In mid 2023 a plot to assassinate former Trump officials—in particular “Never Trumper” John Bolton—was announced by the Department of Treasury as it imposed sanctions against certain members of the Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The assassination plots of former officials, which supposedly also included Mike Pompeo, Mark Esper and others, were in retaliation for the Trump administration’s killing of Iranian military leader, Gen. Qasem Soleimani. The indicted IRGC official, Shahram Poursafi, allegedly tried to hire an informant of the U.S. government for $300,000 to kill Bolton. In the past, one would think, well good job; foiled another plot. In today’s FBI, where FBI “informants” end up running plots against political figures and movements, one cannot be confident that these investigations are legitimate.
If a successful attempt on Trump’s life were to be linked to Iranians, domestic political causes would be ruled out, allowing the guilty parties to escape into anonymity.
In a curious op/ed appearing in the Asia Times (post-dating the writing of this article), a pseudonymous writer, Ichabod (identified only as a former U.S. diplomat) suggested that Donald Trump choose a vice presidential nominee who would serve as an insurance policy to Trump’s untimely death.
That Trump is at unusually high risk of assassination seems self-evident. Not since Abraham Lincoln has an American president or major-party presidential candidate been so widely demonized as Donald Trump, who is now vilified by US ruling elites, including the sitting president, members of Congress, academics and journalists not merely as leading but as being, in person, an existential threat to what they call “our democracy.”
Some of Trump’s supporters have warned publicly of this risk. Tucker Carlson, interviewing Trump on August 23, asked him why some of the millions who hate him viscerally would not assassinate him rather than allow him to return to the presidency. When Trump evaded that question, Carlson asked it again, and Trump evaded it again.
A week later, Carlson, appearing on Adam Carolla’s weekly podcast, opined that “we are speeding toward assassination” of Trump. After The New York Times, on November 30, published an opinion piece by neoconservative Robert Kagan titled “A Trump dictatorship is increasingly inevitable,” pro-Trump congressman Matt Gaetz posted on X (formerly Twitter): “They’re obviously green-lighting assassination.”
An alternative target to Trump would be the assassination, by the same dark forces, of Joe Biden. For the sick of heart, an Oswald-like patsy complete with red MAGA hat taking a shot from an “assault rifle” at the president would accomplish several things. First, there would be the opportunity for Democrats to switch candidates for the November election; it also invigorates their base for their rhetoric would be confirmed: Trump and his rabid followers are nothing more than Nazis willing to kill to gain power.
Considering assassination of a political leader is dark. No one wants to go there and yet in the turbulent times in which we live, a black thread pulls at the subconscious and begs the inquiry. Overt violence against anyone in the public sphere is nauseating; it doesn’t matter who it is. We want to feel safe and we want anyone who enters the political arena, no matter the political persuasion, to be safe to express their inalienable right to free speech. When forces aligned against a large faction of Americans decide to attack a political target through political, cultural, legal, unconstitutional, and violent means, the attack is on the Americans who support the target.
In any assassination attempt on any of our political leaders, there will be dark ulterior motives that most likely will be obscured to most people.
The resulting mayhem would change America forever. That, however, would be the reason for an assassination: chaos, and from chaos comes a new society. Which side will cross the Rubicon and assert that control? And what reaction will come from the vanquished?
Further reading (from Matt Taibbi):
You are a very interesting writer, i.e. person. I am an octogenarian who should have much more time to read than I do, but my husband and I have not decided- or been forced- to downsize into what I have always disparagingly called “the hotel,” an assisted living facility. We still live independently on ten fully fenced acres (by himself!) and work hard to stay fit and healthy enough to continue to care for our “family” for their lifetimes: two horses and three dogs, four of them rescues. Two of the dogs are very large guard dogs, a 142 lb Kangal intact male and 121 lb female Great Pyrenees.
Our horses are a large red dun Steens Mountain Mustang, 25 years old, that we adopted almost three years ago as a companion for our then 26 year old Peruvian/Arabian mare, who pranced out of our barn to meet him like a parade horse and immediately went into heat! It was a sight to behold. We lost her at age 28 and were given a companion for Red by friends who have too many horses, another red dun, an Icelandic 22 yr old mare. Another match made in heaven.
BUT this explains why my reading time is limited. What I wanted to do here is simply tell you that I have looked at your beginnings on Substack now and am honored to be your first “likes” on two articles. I really enjoy your perspective! Keep writing! 😊
